Want to know the life of the ancestor Pierre Terrien, well be aware that his biography is written and is now available in French. This 302 pages book relate the detailed story of his life and his wife Gabrielle Mineau (Mignot), each of their children as well as some notes on the third generation.
In 2006, Roger Therrien published Volume 1 of his book, titled “Pierre Terrien et Gabrielle Mineau (Mignot), leur vie, leur famille et leur entourage“. This book was published to mark the 350th anniversary of the arrival of the ancestor Pierre Terrien in New France, in 1656. After this first publication, Roger continued his research for a possible response to this first book.
His research has uncovered some new facts that required some corrections or changes to certain events. That’s when he decided to present this second edition with the necessary changes.

MES RACINES, MES AMOURS is the biography of Joseph Therrien, my maternal grandfather, a descendant of Pierre Terrien de La Rochelle. Born into a modest family, Joseph was resolved to be out of poverty, so he left to work in Western Canada. Upon his return, he settled in Saint-Claude. Then he met Emma Marceau, whom he married and with whom he had five children including my mother, Angelina Therrien. She married Rosary Laplante and their union produced many children. This is an exciting story whose narration is adorned with many pictures.

This book of some 147 pages, the TOME-I, NOS ANCÊTRES (3e édition) is divided into three chapters:
1- The ¨TERRIENNE¨ from France;
2- The ¨TERRIEN¨ in Québec;
3- The ¨THERRIEN¨ in New Brunswick.
The first chapter treat specifically of our origins, the family surname, coat of arms and known lineage in France.
The second chapter describes the first traces of the surname in New France, the ancestor Pierre, the children of Pierre and Gabrielle Minaud and direct ascendance of Jules in Québec.
The last chapter includes the voyage of Jules Terrien from Saint-Nicolas in Quebec to the small colony of the haut-Saint-Jean (now particularly the County of Madawaska, New Brunswick) and the immediate descendants of Jules Terrien and Sophie Pelletier.
