Achievements

Since its creation, the Association has conducted a multitude of achievements. Among others, we conducted thirty annual family reunions in various parts of Canada and the United States. The Association also published a newsletter twice a year since 1985. Commemorative plaques were also erected by the Association on various historical places. Once a year, a general meeting open to all members is done so the board can make reports on the activities of the Association and when circumstances require it, an election of members of the Board of Director takes place. Finally, the Association has established and maintain a genealogical database.

Newsletter

Only a year after its creation, the Association published its first newsletter. The newsletter, called “Le Terrien” is published twice a year and is a link that unites all the members of the Association. It is also the preferred way to gather and disseminate results of research on the ancestors and the history of our family members. The newsletter is sent by mail to each member having paid their membership fee to the Association. Moreover, it is through the newsletter that members can be informed of activities organized by the Association.

All interested members may contribute to the newsletter publication by sending articles by mail to the address of the Association, or by email using the email address.

If you go through one of these places, feel free to stop and take a look.

Annual meeting

Once a year, normally at the same time as the annual reunion, the Association holds a general meeting on which the Board reports on Association’s activities. In addition, when circumstances require it, an election of members of the board occurs. The general meeting is open to all members in good standing of the Association.

Genealogical database

The Association has established, through the hard work of several volunteers, a genealogical database. It now contains about 141,000 individuals, including 8,900 distinct surnames and some 58,500 families. Using this information, the Association offers a support service to its members in finding their ancestors.
